Custom Design Christmas Cards
watercolor, gouache, ink pen, colored pencil & Photoshop
I had the inspiration to doodle a cute little cat bundled up for winter, complete with a warm cup of cocoa. I couldn't help but think that it would look really nice on a Christmas card. While I fleshed out the lineart and color scheme, I couldn't help but start coming up with other holiday card designs. There was no stopping at that point. I used a combination of watercolor and gouache paints, as well as ink pens and colored pencils to create all the visual elements. Then, I scanned all those paintings and drawings into Photoshop where I brought them together to create each individual design; similar to how you create a collage but with more pixels and a lot less glue.
The cat is my obvious favorite, as it is the one that started me down this little illustrative journey, but I love how each card took shape and became what it is.
